USDA to incentivize farmers to sequester carbon

The USDA will incentivize farmers to sequester carbon in soils from a $30 billion fund used to support farmers hurt by tariffs, according to Reuters. One way farmers could take advantage of this program is with cover crops that build up soil carbon content. But, as described below, cover crops are not always feasible or convenient.
